Bijnor: Two sisters, Noori (30) and Tabassum (40), were arrested for their alleged involvement in smack trafficking following a raid under Kotwali police station area in Bijnor on Sunday evening.Police recovered approximately 112 grammes of smack, estimated to be worth nearly ₹1.5 lakh. Authorities also seized ₹89,000 in cash, which is suspected to be proceeds from drug sales.SP Abhishek Jha stated that an FIR has been registered against the sisters under sections 8 and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Kotwali City police station. Following their arrest, the accused were produced before a court and remanded to jail under judicial custody.The successful raid was executed by a special police team led by sub-inspectors Ankurpal and Mamta, along with other personnel.SP Jha said further legal proceedings are underway, and an investigation on to map out the supply source and network linked to the narcotics trade.
