Ludhiana: Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Singh Mann visited Jagraon on Saturday to offer condolences to families grieving the loss of loved ones in a tragic boat capsizing incident near Mathura. During his visit, the chief minister stood with the bereaved to assure them of the state's full support during this crisis. The tragedy occurred in the Yamuna River while victims were on a pilgrimage to Vrindavan. To date, 11 bodies have been recovered, and search operations remain ongoing for four missing persons.The CM confirmed that Punjab has dispatched expert diving teams to assist in the rescue efforts and is maintaining close coordination with the Uttar Pradesh government. Emphasising the necessity of "accountability and prevention," Mann asserted that the safety of pilgrims at religious sites must be ensured at all costs. He has formally taken up the matter with his counterpart in Uttar Pradesh to demand strengthened safeguards aimed at preventing future tragedies.Rescue Coordination & Preventive MeasuresWhile addressing the media, Mann expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives, stating, "My heartfelt condolences are with the families who have lost their loved ones in this tragedy.

He reaffirmed that the Punjab Government stands firmly with them in this hour of irreparable loss, stressing that state governments must take all necessary steps to protect citizens during such visits.
