Temperatures in Mahabaleshwar, Kolhapur, Solapur, Sangli hovering above monthly mean

Kolhapur: The maximum temperature in Mahabaleshwar, Satara's famous hill station, increased to 34.7°C, a rise of 1degree compared with Saturday.The temperature was more than the mean or average of April temperature observed at the hill station during the long range. The April mean temperature for Mahabaleshwar is 36.8°C.Solapur recorded the highest maximum temperature at 41.6°C, up from 41.5°C a day earlier. The April mean temperature for Solapur is 40.2°C.Kolhapur reported a half-point increase in maximum temperature to 39°C. The mean maximum temperature for Kolhapur for April is 36.8°C.Sangli recorded a further hike in maximum temperature to 41°C from 40.3°C. The mean maximum temperature for April here over the long range is 38.4°C.District authorities have advised people to stay indoors during the afternoon hours, and have issued a health advisory appealing to people to ensure adequate fluid intake. Paediatricians reported an increase in cases of stomach upset among children and dehydration."Parents should ensure the kids have electrolyte mixed water sipping from time to time. They should be fed with more fluids, fruits," said a Kolhapur-based pediatrician.
