Kolhapur: Residents continue to report delays and non-delivery of LPG cylinders in spite of the administration's directive to distributors to provide only home delivery. As a result, many are visiting distributor offices personally in order to collect their refills.
The district administration administration reiterated on Friday that there was no shortage of LPG supply, as firms had increased the number of cylinders dispatched to the region. The district requires around 30,000 LPG cylinders daily, and the officials said there was currently a two-day buffer stock available. "We have reviewed the situation and found that panic booking, especially in the urban areas, and the expectation of immediate delivery is causing inconvenience. I want to assure the residents that there is no shortage of domestic LPG supply," Mohini Chavan, district supplies officer, said.
