Kanpur: A Special Investigation Team (SIT) comprising six members has been constituted to probe the fraudulent sale of the AP Fanny Compound, a nazul property, in Kanpur. The investigation will be supervised by DCP Central Dinesh Tripathi, with assistance from ADCP and ACP Colonelganj.
The case came to light after an administrative probe uncovered illegal land transactions involving individuals authorized to sign on behalf of a Christian trust. The land was recently recorded as a nazul property in govt records.
On Tuesday, Colonelganj police filed a case against M Rev Johnson T John of St Mark's Mission Compound, Aligarh Road, Hathras; Anil Kumar of 387 B City Side Railway Colony, Agra; Arpit Mishra of 49 Gangapur Yashodanagar; Deepak Kumar of M Block Kidwainagar; and Duryodhan Kumar of KDA Colony Ganga Vihar. The charges include fraud and forgery of govt documents. The investigation is currently being handled by Colonelganj station house officer Ravindra Srivastava.
ACP (law & order) Harish Chander said, "DCP Central Dinesh Tripathi will supervise the investigation while ADCP Central Mahesh Kumar and ACP Colonelganj Tej Bahadur Singh will assist him. DCP Crime Ashish Srivastava will oversee the surveillance and technical team, and ADCP intelligence Rajesh Kumar Srivastava will provide manual input." The main investigator, Colonelganj SHO Ravindra Srivastava, will be supported by additional officials, including Roadways Bus Stand outpost in-charge Vishesh Kumar and Eidgah outpost in-charge Abhisar Singh.
