Kanpur: Adarsh Singh's brilliant knock of 82 runs in merely 28 balls propelled Kanpur Cricket Association to a commanding 57-run victory over Moradabad Cricket Association, securing their spot in the final of the fifth Chief Justice Jagdish Bhalla Memorial all India Under-23 cricket tournament at police line ground in Orai on Saturday.
Batting first, Kanpur posted a formidable total of 136 runs in ten overs. Adarsh's spectacular innings included 5 boundaries and 10 sixes. He subsequently claimed two wickets whilst conceding 9 runs. Moradabad's response culminated at 79 runs in their allocated 10 overs. Siddharth Chaudhary remained unbeaten on 27 runs. Shashank Awasthi secured 3 wickets for 13 runs.

Selection: Three Kanpur girls have been selected by the BCCI selectors for one-day Challenger Trophy tournament commencing Sunday at Chennai. The selected women cricketers are Garima Yadav, Tripti Singh and Archana Devi. Archana Devi is an off-break bowler and Garima Yadav is a medium pacer. Both have been placed in Team B. Tripti Singh is a batswoman and has been placed in Team C. According to Kaushal Kumar Singh, secretary Kanpur Cricket Association, Archana Devi and Tripti Singh had been selected in Challenger trophy which had concluded in Nov 2024.
