Etawah District Bar Association poll on Dec 21

Kanpur: Elections of Etawah District Bar Association will be held on December 21, said spokesperson and media in-charge of the Elders Committee of the Etawah Bar Association Mohsin Ali on Tuesday.
"After polling, counting of votes will begin at 5 pm the same day and the results will also be declared by late evening hours," he said and added that elections are being conducted by the Elders Committee as per the model bylaws and the directions of UP Bar Council.
Advocates Chandrashekhar Singh and Brijesh Dubey are contesting for the post of president of EDBA. For the post of general secretary, Abhishek Tripathi, Prashant Dubey, Rajeev Tripathi, Ambrish Pandey, Hansmukhi and Rajesh Yadav are in the fray, he said and added, that apart from the two above posts, the advocates are also trying their luck for the posts of senior vice-president, junior vice-president, joint secretary, senior executive members and of junior executive members.
Chairman of the Elders Committee and senior advocate Yogendra Kishore Tiwari said the Elders Committee is determined to conduct free, fair, transparent and peaceful elections as per the model bylaws. The model election code of conduct is in force and it is mandatory for every contestant to follow it, Tiwari further said.
Hectic campaigning is going on in the court premises by the contestants who are visiting chambers of their colleagues and asking them to cast their votes in their favour.
