Jaipur: Owing to prevailing circumstances in West Asia and the subsequent rise in demand and price of bitumen, the state Public Works Department (PWD) has issued a new directive to procure bitumen Wednesday.
According to new directives issued by the Department, provisional payments for bitumen price variation will now be disbursed every month. Subsequently, the payments made on this provisional basis will be adjusted based on quarterly price variation calculations.
“Furthermore, projects impacted by disruptions in bitumen supply may be granted an extension of up to two months without the imposition of Liquidated Damages (LD). The Department will assess such affected cases and take necessary decisions accordingly,” a release issued by the Chief Minister’s Office stated.
