Kota underpass collapse leaves 2 dead

Kota: Two railway engineers were killed after a portion of an under-construction underpass collapsed on NH-52 near Dara Ghati in Kota district Thursday.The deceased were identified as junior engineer Prabhat Singh and senior section engineer Sanjay Jha.According to Railway PRO Ravindra Lakhara, the accident occurred around 8 pm when a section of earth caved in during block-fixing work at the under-construction underpass . Both engineers sustained critical injuries and were rushed to hospital within minutes, but doctors declared them brought dead.No labourers are believed to be trapped under the debris, Lakhara said.The bodies were shifted to the mortuary Friday for postmortem examination.
