Man harassing women in isolated areas arrested

Indore: A man accused of harassing women in isolated areas was arrested by Rau police.The man allegedly used to move around deserted stretches to target women walking alone, passed obscene comments, and attempted to molest them before fleeing the spot on a scooter.According to police, a woman lodged a complaint at Rau police station on Nov 1 last year, stating that an unidentified scooter rider harassed her and made objectionable remarks at a secluded stretch on CAT Road before escaping. Based on the complaint, police registered a case under relevant section of the BNS.During the probe, a team led by Rau police station in-charge Rajpal Singh Rathore analysed CCTV footage from the spot and nearby areas. Technical evidence was also examined, and local informers were activated to identify the suspect.Police received information on March 10 that a man matching the suspect's description was seen again in CAT Road area. Acting on the tip-off, the police team laid a trap and detained him.During questioning, the accused allegedly admitted that he targeted women who were alone and harassed them. The scooter used in the crime was seized.|
