Liquor worth Rs74 lakh seized, four arrested
Indore: Indore Police seized 340 cartons of beer being allegedly smuggled in a truck and an SUV during a crackdown by Kanadia police station. Four accused were arrested and a total of 4,080 litre of illegal beer worth around Rs 74.24 lakh was confiscated during the operation.
Acting on a tip-off about illegal liquor transportation, a team led by Kanadia police station in-charge inspector Saharsh Yadav laid a blockade. During the operation, police intercepted the vehicles and arrested 22-year-old Ravi Bahediya and 25-year-old Jagdish Chauhan, both residents of Alirajpur district, along with 36-year-old Rahul God, a resident of Indore and 27-year-old Dharmendra Akhade, resident of Nanpur in Alirajpur district.
Police said that the accused were allegedly transporting the beer illegally. The seized liquor, along with the vehicles, have been taken into custody and a case was registered under relevant provisions.
