Indore: Two days after 16 people died in a road accident in Dhar, police arrested driver of the pickup vehicle on Friday and charged him under Section 105 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for culpable homicide not amounting to murder.The driver, Radheshyam Damore, a resident of Jalokhiya has been sent to jail as investigation into the overloading and technical failure of the vehicle continues.

The accident had occurred around 8:30pm on Wednesday near a petrol pump at Chikaliya Phata. Thirteen persons were critically injuredAccording to reports, the pickup vehicle's tyre suddenly burst, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle climbed the divider, flipped several times, and crossed into the opposite lane, where it collided head-on with an SUV. The impact was so severe that several passengers died on the spot. As per the sources, the vehicle's insurance had expired.
