DCA launches awareness campaign on antimicrobial resistance
Hyderabad: Amid growing concerns over antimicrobial resistance (AMR), the Drugs Control Administration, Telangana (DCA), launched a public awareness campaign through multilingual pamphlets. As part of the initiative, the DCA directed drug inspectors across Telangana to distribute the pamphlets to pharmacies and ensure they were prominently displayed for public awareness. The material highlights the public's role in preventing the overuse and misuse of antibiotics and the risks posed by AMR, which health authorities describe as a serious and emerging public health threat.Officials said the pamphlets were prepared in both English and Telugu to maximise outreach and improve understanding among the general public.
