Belagavi: The activists of various Kannada organisations held a meeting on Monday and decided to continue the struggle for various rights of Kannada organisations, including the demand for the adoption of pro-Karnataka resolutions in the Belagavi City Corporation (BCC). The activists also decided to take a delegation of 12 members of Kannada organisations to Bengaluru in the 2nd week of April to meet the chief minister, border affairs minister and the state's chief secretary. The meeting was chaired by senior Kannada activist Ashok Chandaragi. The leaders of Kannada organisations expressed happiness over the assurance given by deputy mayor Hanumant Kongali regarding the adoption of pro-Karnataka resolutions in the BCC. It was decided in the meeting that like-minded pro-Kannada organisations will separately submit a memorandum to the mayor and deputy mayor from Tuesday, demanding that the resolutions ‘Mahajana Report on border dispute is final' and ‘Belagavi is an integral part of Karnataka' be passed in the BCC.
