Man dies by suicide after stabbing pregnant wife

Belagavi: A man in Ramadurga town of the district died by suicide after stabbing his pregnant wife on Sunday. The pregnant woman, who was seriously injured, was admitted to hospital and is out of danger. Umesh Badiger, 34, a resident of Ramdurg town, is the deceased. According to police information, Umesh got drunk on Sunday and picked up a fight with his wife. The argument escalated, and he stabbed his wife with a knife. Later, he jumped into a well nearby. An investigation is on. Narayan Badiger, brother Umesh Badiger, filed a complaint at the Ramdurg police station. A case has been registered in this regard.
