Minor gangraped in Shakarpur

NEW DELHI: In a shocking incident, a 14-year-old girl was gangraped at a guest house in Shakarpur continuously for two days by two persons. The victim had reportedly been missing from her residence in New Sanjay Amar Colony in Anand Vihar since Sunday and a missing complaint to this effect was filed. According to police, the victim returned to her residence on Tuesday, and told her parents about how she was kidnapped and raped continuously for the past two days."She stated that two women from their neighbourhood, identified as Asha and Rani, lured her to a vacant house in the area, while she was playing with her friends in the locality. Later, the two women handed her over to two men, identified as Badal and Hiren. The men injected her with a tranquilizer and took her to a guest house in Shakarpur on Sunday," said a senior police official.
The two then continuously raped the child for two days and on Tuesday she was dumped near her residence. According to the victim's family, initially police officials at the local police station declined to investigate the case and even refrained from registering a formal complaint. When family members and a few media persons intervened, police officials took the victim for a medical examination. Doctors confirmed that the victim was sexually abused and raped. It was only after this did the police register a case and recorded the statement of the victim, followed by a raid at the guesthouse at Shakarpur. The police detained Asha from her residence and she was being questioned. A case has been registered at Anand Vihar police station, but no arrests have been made so far, said a senior police official.
