NEW DELHI: Delhi Police's Special Cell has arrested a member of the Tillu Tajpuria gang for demanding protection money and opening fire on a house in Prem Nagar area. Police said a jailed gangster had asked the accused to threaten a man and demand protection money.
The accused, Jatin, is a resident of Sultanpuri.
At 5pm on October 13, police said, five motorcycle-borne masked assailants fired two rounds at the house of one Reena, a bootlegger and bad character in Prem Nagar.
Later, Reena received a threat call and was asked to pay Rs two lakhs as protection money. The accused was arrested near gate number 3 of Japani Park in Rohini.
The accused had tried to fire on the police and was nabbed. He told us that jailed gangster Naveen Dahiya had asked the accused to threaten a man and demand protection money, police said. TNN
