29yo man killed by speeding vehicle while walking dog; case filed

Dehradun: A 29-year-old man was killed after being hit by a speeding vehicle while walking his pet dog near the Mohkampur flyover in Nehru Colony area, police said.Anod Nautiyal, a native of Uttarkashi district, used to work at a small shop in Dehradun. “The incident occurred at 6 am on Sunday but came to light after his brother lodged a police complaint on Monday,” said Nehru Colony police station SHO Manoj Nautiyal. A case has been registered against an unidentified accused under relevant BNS sections. CCTV footage of the incident has also circulated widely on social media.“CCTV footage shows the dog suddenly ran onto the highway. While trying to control it, Nautiyal was dragged and hit by a vehicle coming from the opposite direction,” the SHO said.“He was taken to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival. Efforts are on to identify the accused,” he said.
