Chennai: Chief Minister M K Stalin on Monday asked his party cadres to gear up for
DMK's diamond jubilee celebrations on September 17 in Chennai.
Stalin, in a statement, said that on the 75th year of the founding of the party, every existing party flagpole should be revamped and new flags unfurled. It was decided in the DMK district secretaries' meeting that the new party flags should be hoisted by senior party cadres and local functionaries who have toiled for the party's growth. The flag should also fly hight atop all party cadres' houses, commercial complexes and office buildings, Stalin said.
Meanwhile, the chief minister who is on a US tour, met representatives of various Tamil organisations in Chicago and interacted with them. He asked them to stay united and to visit Tamil Nadu at least once a year with their families.
