7.7 kg ganja seized from peddlers

Chennai: A history sheeter, J Jaideep, 35, of Raja Annamalaipuram
was arrested with 3.7kg of ganja from his house. Inquiries revealed that the accused was involved in more than four cases including a murder case, procured the contraband from a wholesale dealer in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh. Jaideep was remanded in judicial custody on Wednesday.
In the other incident, Kodungaiyur police arrested a drug peddler during vehicle-check in Moolakadai on Tuesday night and based on his inputs, arrested two others in Padianallur.In total, 4kg of ganja was seized from N Vinoth, 34, and N Karthik, 31, of Red Hills and M Ilayakumar, 31, of Vyasarpadi. Police said that all the three were history-sheeters. They were remanded in judicial custody.
