Haryana man bludgeons 3 to death with iron rod
SONIPAT: A man allegedly bludgeoned three neighbours to death with an iron rod and a sharp-edged weapon following a dispute reportedly linked to an illicit relationship.
The gruesome incident triggered panic and chaos in the residential complex, with terrified residents rushing out of their homes after hearing loud screams and commotion from the flat.
According to locals, neighbours informed Vijay’s elder brother after repeated cries for help were heard from inside the residence.
When he arrived at the spot, he allegedly found three bodies lying in pools of blood, leaving the entire locality horrified.
Police said the violence erupted around 11.30pm when an altercation between the accused, identified as Brahm Prakash and neighbouring residents escalated into a deadly confrontation.
Investigators suspect the dispute stemmed from objections raised by residents over the accused’s alleged illicit relationship with a woman residing in the housing complex.
Locals claimed repeated arguments and confrontations had taken place earlier over the same issue.
Eyewitnesses alleged that Brahm Prakash launched a frenzied attack using an iron rod and a sharp weapon, assaulting the women first before turning towards Vijay.
The assault was so savage that all three victims succumbed to their injuries on the spot.
The deceased were identified as 50-year-old Vijay and his 47-year-old wife Sunita, both natives of Court Mohalla in Sonipat and currently residing on the first floor of Flat No. L-1299 in TDI City.
The third victim, 32-year-old Swati, wife of Virender and a native of Baroli village, was residing on the second floor of Flat No. 1431 in the BPL Flats complex.
Following the incident, Kundli police station SHO Inspector Sethi Malik rushed to the scene along with his team and initiated an investigation.
Speaking to reporters, inspector Malik said police received information about the triple murder late at night and immediately reached the spot before summoning the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team.
Inspector Sethi Malik further stated that the accused was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident and has since been taken into custody.
Police are currently interrogating him to establish the exact sequence of events and ascertain the motive behind the killings.
The FSL team collected several crucial pieces of evidence from the crime scene, including a blood-stained iron rod believed to have been used in the murders. CCTV footage from nearby buildings is also being scanned to reconstruct the chain of events leading up to the attack.
According to residents, Brahm Prakash is a native of Jasaur Khedi village in Jhajjar district and had been living in Sonipat for some time. Locals described him as aggressive and frequently involved in neighbourhood disputes. Sonipat Police PRO Ravinder said the accused had studied only up to Class V.
The triple homicide has left residents of TDI City deeply shaken, with fear and tension gripping the locality through the night.
Police officials said all angles are being thoroughly investigated and further revelations are expected following detailed interrogation of the accused.
