Mohali: District election officer-cum-deputy commissioner Komal Mittal Sunday pulled up 10 booth level officers (BLOs) for poor progress in voter mapping during a review of preparations for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026.
At the meeting, Mittal interacted with officials, assessed their work and directed them to speed up voter mapping and ensure wider coverage. He stressed that voter registration, data updation and identification of duplicate entries must be carried out with seriousness to ensure no eligible voter is left out.
The DC also called for strengthening voter awareness drives and ordered the formation of a core committee under district nodal officer (SVEEP) Prof Gurbakshish Singh Antal to boost outreach.
She directed all officials to complete revision-related preparations on a “war footing”. District election tehsildar Sanje Kumar was present.
