Cops nab Ghana drug dealer after local peddler’s arrest

JALANDHAR: Jalandhar (rural) police have arrested a Ghana national from Delhi and a local peddler with 600g heroin.Cops got to know about Joshua Amangwan alias Smith, allegedly operating the drug racket from Delhi, after the arrest of Sukhwinder Singh of Mana village in Hoshiarpur district on August 8.Jalandhar (rural) SSP Navjot Singh Mahal said acting on a tip-off, the crime investigation agency-II had arrested Sukhwinder with 100g heroin and five live cartridges of .315 bore from Padhiana village near Adampur.During questioning, he revealed that he had procured the contraband from the Ghana national from Delhi. “Immediately a team was dispatched to Delhi and Joshua was arrested from Bindapur in Uttam Nagar, New Delhi. During questioning, he revealed that he had sold 100g heroin to Sukhwinder and remaining 500g of the contraband was concealed under a tree somewhere at Karnal bypass in Delhi. We seized the drug on the basis of that information,” Mahal said.He said the Ghana national already has three cases against him at Panchkula in Haryana and has been out on bail since last year. The SSP said his passport had been seized and they were verifying that if he was staying here on extended visa. Sukhwinder also had five criminal cases against him, including four drug peddling cases.
