BANGALORE: President A P J Abdul Kalam arrived here on Thursday evening on a two-day state visit.
He was received by governor T N Chaturvedi, chief minister S M Krishna, information minister G Parameshwara and Bangalore mayor P R Ramesh.
Kalam on his arrival, immediately left for former chief minister Ramakrishna Hegde''s residence to convey his condolences to his family members.
Hegde passed away on Monday.
On Friday, Kalam will dedicate a linear accelerator-based stereotactic radiosurgery facility to nation, followed by an interaction with women entrepreneurs on "Vision 2020" focus.
Kalam will also address a workshop on India Vision 2020: Role of Technological Universities, before leaving for Delhi in the evening.
