President arrives in Bangalore

BANGALORE: President A P J Abdul Kalam arrived here on Thursday evening on a two-day state visit.
He was received by governor T N Chaturvedi, chief minister S M Krishna, information minister G Parameshwara and Bangalore mayor P R Ramesh.
Kalam on his arrival, immediately left for former chief minister Ramakrishna Hegde''s residence to convey his condolences to his family members.Hegde passed away on Monday.
On Friday, Kalam will dedicate a linear accelerator-based stereotactic radiosurgery facility to nation, followed by an interaction with women entrepreneurs on "Vision 2020" focus.
Kalam will also address a workshop on India Vision 2020: Role of Technological Universities, before leaving for Delhi in the evening.
