BANGALORE: The city did not see rain for the second day after the meteorological department announced the arrival of monsoon on June 1.
"The trough line has slightly moved towards south instead of moving north, because of which even coastal areas have received less rain. And from Wednesday, we are expecting the usual monsoon rain," meteorological department director Muthuchami said.
"About 100 mm of rain in June is sufficient for sowing seeds," said Raje Gowda, professor of agro meteorology department, GKVK.
"Monsoon winds have entered north, coastal and parts of the southern interiors of the state. They are yet to reach Bangalore, Mysore, Mandya and Tumkur," Gowda said.
