BANGALORE : The CBI on Monday filed a chargesheet against I.B.Venkataramanappa, who was caught holding two jobs, one with the Central government and the other with the State government, for the last 20 years.

BANGALORE : The CBI on Monday filed a chargesheet against I.B.Venkataramanappa, who was caught holding two jobs, one with the Central government and the other with the State government, for the last 20 years.
Venkataramanappa has been working as scientist E-1 at the National Laboratories Limited, Bangalore for more than 20 years. While working there, he also applied for a job in the State government in 1983 and was selected through the Karnataka State Public Service Commission and posted as an officer in the Legal Metrology department, according to the chargesheet.
For the last 20 years he has been working and drawing pay and allowances and all other benefits from both the Central government and the State government.

He had managed to get attendance for both the jobs all these years, by utilising his leave smartly. He would go and attend office in his State government job during weekends and mark attendance for the entire week, the chargesheet said.
The CBI, Anti-Corruption Branch, Bangalore arrested and produced him before the CBI special judge, Bangalore, S.V.Patil. The special judge remanded him to judicial custody and ordered that he be produced before the court again at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
