2 dead, 2 hurt in separate road accidents in Pilibhit

Pilibhit: A 20-year-old man on his way to distribute his sister’s wedding invitations was killed, and his mother and younger brother were critically injured, after his motorcycle got trapped between two tractor-trolleys coming from the opposite direction in Pilibhit on Friday evening. In a separate incident later that night, another man died after being hit by an unidentified vehicle.The first accident took place near the Khannaut river bridge on the Bilsanda-Bisalpur road when Rajkumar, 20, was riding with his mother, Varna Devi, 43, and nine-year-old brother Rajnand. Bilsanda SHO Siddhant Sharma said the three were taken to a community health centre and later referred to the district hospital in Pilibhit. “Rajkumar succumbed to his injuries on the way,” he said.In the second incident, Nanhe Lal, 50, a farmer and resident of Sikrahna village under Ghungchai police station, was killed after his motorcycle was hit by an unidentified vehicle on the Puranpur-Banda road near a brick kiln in Jamunia village late Friday night.Ghungchai SHO Jai Shankar Singh said the victim was returning home from Balrampur village when the accident occurred. “He was taken to the community health centre in Puranpur, where doctors declared him dead on arrival,” he said.
