Alliance standings across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and the numbers are shifting quickly. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller-party candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 115 seats, with 10 declared wins and 105 leads, leaving them just 3 short of the majority mark. SPA has a tally of 60, while NDA is at 55. Neither alliance has yet crossed the threshold. In West Bengal, BJP is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat house if those leads hold, carrying a tally of 179 that includes 11 won seats and 168 leads. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won seats and 104 leads. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, NDA holds a tally of 18 in the 30-seat assembly where 16 are needed for a majority, with 13 seats already declared in its favour and leads in 5 more, placing it in a position to cross the majority mark if those leads hold. SPA has a tally of 5 in Puducherry. Kerala's 140-seat assembly requires 71 for a majority. UDF leads in enough seats to cross that mark, carrying a tally of 87 that includes 68 won seats and 19 leads. LDF has a tally of 36, with 30 declared wins and 6 leads. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 seats in Kerala.
