Alliance tallies shift across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and the numbers are moving quickly. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively lead in enough seats to hold a tally of 115, just three short of the majority mark, with 10 seats already decided in their favour. SPA has a tally of 60, having won 7 and leading in 53, while NDA is at 55 seats on current leads with no wins declared yet. In West Bengal, BJP has crossed the majority mark of 148 on its tally, sitting at 179 across 11 won and 168 leading seats in the 294-seat house, with TMC trailing on a tally of 106. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, NDA has won 13 and is leading in 5 more for a tally of 18 in the 30-seat assembly, where 16 is the majority mark, putting the alliance well past that threshold on current trends. SPA has a tally of 5 there. In Kerala, UDF leads the 140-seat count with 68 seats won and 19 more in hand, giving it a tally of 87 against a majority mark of 71. LDF has a tally of 36, with 30 declared wins and 6 leads. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 seats in Kerala.
