Alliance standings across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states with leads still shifting in several seats. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller-party candidates cumulatively lead in enough seats to hold a tally of 115, just three short of the majority mark, with 10 seats already decided in their favour. SPA has a tally of 60, having won 7 and leading in 53, while NDA is leading in 55 seats with no wins confirmed yet, giving it a tally of 55. In West Bengal, BJP is leading in enough seats to cross the 148-seat majority mark if those leads hold, carrying a tally of 179 across 11 won and 168 leading seats. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won and 104 leading. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, where 16 seats decide a majority in the 30-seat house, NDA has won 13 and is leading in 5 more for a tally of 18, placing it ahead of the majority mark if those leads hold. SPA has a tally of 5, with 2 won and 3 leading. Kerala's 140-seat assembly requires 71 for a majority. UDF has won 68 and is leading in 19 more, giving it a tally of 87 and putting it well past the majority threshold if those leads hold. LDF has a tally of 36, with 30 won and 6 leading. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 in Kerala.
