Alliance tallies shift across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and results are taking shape at a brisk pace. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 115, with 10 seats won and leads in 105 more, sitting just 3 short of the majority mark. SPA has a tally of 60, with 7 won and 53 leading, while NDA is at 55, all in leads with none yet declared. In West Bengal, BJP is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat house, holding a tally of 179 with 11 won and 168 leading. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won and 104 leading. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, NDA has crossed the majority mark of 16 in the 30-seat assembly, tallying 18 seats with 13 already won and 5 in leads. SPA stands at 5, with 2 won and 3 leading. In Kerala, UDF is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 71 in the 140-seat house, with a tally of 87 comprising 68 won and 19 leading. LDF has 30 won and 6 leading for a tally of 36, while independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively account for a tally of 17 in Kerala.
