Alliance tallies shift across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and the picture is still taking shape in most of them. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively lead in enough seats to hold a tally of 115, just three short of that mark, with 10 seats already decided in their favour. SPA has a tally of 60, with 7 won and 53 leads, while NDA is at 55 seats on leads alone. In West Bengal, BJP has crossed the majority mark of 148 in a 294-seat house on the strength of its tally, leading in 168 seats with 11 won for a combined count of 179, though declared results are still coming in. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won and 104 leads. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, NDA holds a tally of 18 in the 30-seat assembly where 16 are needed for a majority, having already won 13 and leading in 5 more, putting it past the majority mark on current trends. SPA has a tally of 5 there. In Kerala, UDF leads the 140-seat contest with 68 seats won and 19 more in hand for a tally of 87, well past the majority mark of 71. LDF has a tally of 36, with 30 won and 6 leads. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 seats in Kerala.
