Alliance standings across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and results are taking shape at a brisk pace. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 115 seats, with 10 declared and 105 leads still in progress, leaving them just 3 short of the majority mark. SPA has a tally of 60 seats while NDA is at 55. In West Bengal, BJP has crossed the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat house on the strength of its tally of 179, with 11 seats won and 168 leads in hand. TMC trails with a tally of 106, having won 2 and leading in 104. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, NDA has won 13 seats and is leading in 5 more for a tally of 18, crossing the majority mark of 16 in the 30-seat assembly. SPA holds a tally of 5 in Puducherry. In Kerala, UDF leads the 140-seat count with 68 seats won and 19 leads, putting its tally at 87 against the majority mark of 71, which it has already crossed. LDF has a tally of 36, with 30 won and 6 leads remaining.
