Alliance tallies update across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and results are taking shape at different paces. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates collectively hold a tally of 115 seats, with 10 won and 105 leads, placing them just 3 seats short of the majority mark. SPA has a tally of 60, with 7 won and 53 leading, while NDA is at 55, all leads and no wins declared yet. In West Bengal, BJP has crossed the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat house on the strength of its tally, with 11 seats won and 168 leads taking it to 179. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won and 104 leading seats, and candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats. In Puducherry, NDA holds a tally of 18 in the 30-seat assembly, with 13 seats already won and 5 leads, crossing the majority mark of 16. SPA has a tally of 5 there, with 2 won and 3 leading. In Kerala, UDF leads the 140-seat assembly count with a tally of 87, having won 68 seats and leading in 19 more, well past the majority mark of 71. LDF has a tally of 36, with 30 won and 6 leading, while candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 seats in the state.
