Alliance tallies shift across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and results are taking shape at a brisk pace. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 115 seats, with 10 declared wins and 105 leads, leaving them just 3 short of the majority mark. SPA has a tally of 60, with 7 won and 53 leading, while NDA is at 55 seats, all in leads with no wins declared yet. In West Bengal, BJP is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat house if those leads hold, sitting on a tally of 179, comprising 11 won and 168 leading. TMC trails with a tally of 106, made up of 2 won and 104 leading. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. Puducherry, with a majority mark of 16 in its 30-seat assembly, sees NDA holding a tally of 18, with 13 seats already won and 5 leads, placing it on course to cross the majority mark if those leads hold. SPA has a tally of 5, with 2 won and 3 leading. In Kerala, UDF holds a tally of 87 across the 140-seat assembly where 71 seats are needed for a majority, with 68 declared wins and 19 leads, well past the majority threshold on current trends. LDF trails with 30 won and 6 leading, giving it a tally of 36. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 seats in Kerala.
