Alliance standings across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and results are taking shape at varying paces. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates collectively hold a tally of 115 seats, with 10 declared and 105 leads still in progress, leaving them just 3 seats short of the majority mark on current tallies. SPA has a tally of 60, with 7 won and 53 leading, while NDA is at 55, all in leads with none declared yet. In West Bengal, BJP is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat house if those leads hold, sitting on a tally of 179, with 11 declared and 168 leads. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won and 104 leading. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, NDA has crossed the majority mark of 16 on current tallies in the 30-seat assembly, with 13 seats won and 5 leading for a tally of 18. SPA has a tally of 5, with 2 won and 3 leading. Kerala's 140-seat assembly requires 71 for a majority. UDF holds a tally of 87, with 68 won and 19 leading, comfortably past the majority mark on current tallies. LDF trails with 30 won and 6 leading for a tally of 36. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 seats in Kerala.
