Alliance standings across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states with results still taking shape. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 115 seats, with 10 declared wins and 105 leads, leaving them 3 seats short of the majority mark if current trends hold. SPA has a tally of 60, with 7 wins and 53 leads, while NDA is at 55, all leads and no wins declared yet. In West Bengal, BJP is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat house, holding a tally of 179 with 11 won and 168 leading. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 wins and 104 leads. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, NDA has crossed the majority mark of 16 in the 30-seat assembly, with 13 seats won and 5 more leading for a tally of 18. SPA has a tally of 5, with 2 wins and 3 leads. Kerala's 140-seat assembly requires 71 for a majority. UDF leads in enough seats to cross that mark, with 68 wins and 19 leads giving it a tally of 87. LDF has 30 wins and 6 leads for a tally of 36. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 seats in Kerala.
