Alliance tallies shift across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and the numbers are moving quickly. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats mark the majority in a 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively lead in enough seats to hold a tally of 115, just 3 short of that mark. SPA has a tally of 60, with 7 seats won and 53 leads, while NDA stands at 55 seats on leads alone. No alliance has crossed the majority threshold yet in Tamil Nadu. In West Bengal, BJP is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat house if those leads hold, carrying a tally of 179 across 11 won seats and 168 leads. TMC trails with a tally of 106, having won 2 and leading in 104. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. Puducherry, with its 30-seat assembly requiring 16 for a majority, sees NDA leading in enough seats to cross that mark, holding a tally of 18 from 13 won and 5 leads. SPA has a tally of 5 there, with 2 won and 3 leads. In Kerala, UDF is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 71 in the 140-seat assembly if those leads hold, sitting on a tally of 87 from 68 won seats and 19 leads. LDF has won 30 and leads in 6 more for a tally of 36, while independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively account for a tally of 17 across the state.
