The ugliest election campaign in modern US history is drawing to a close with intimation of violence and intimidation of Democrats opposition and its voters, implicitly endorsed by President Trump, coming to the fore 48 hours before the final round of balloting begins on Tuesday. Still significantly behind in polls, Trump on Saturday approvingly tweeted a video of a convoy of trucks and cars bearing flags and banners supporting him as they surrounded a Biden campaign bus on the road in Texas in an effort to browbeat Democrats. “I LOVE TEXAS!” Trump wrote alongside a video accompanied by music whose lyrics included the rap song “Welcome to the Red Kingdom.”

With just two days left for Tuesday's US presidential election, a new poll has placed President Donald Trump in a seven-point lead against his Democratic rival Joe Biden in the battleground state of Iowa. The state swung in favour for the Obama-Biden presidential ticket in 2008 and 2012, before flipping to Trump in 2016. Trump won 51.15 per cent of the votes in the 2016 presidential election, while his then Democratic rival garnered 41.74 per cent of the ballots.

Ruling party leads Georgian parliamentary election: Early results
Early results from the Central Election Commission (CEC) showed Sunday that the ruling Georgian Dream party took the lead with 48.58 percent of votes in the Georgian parliamentary election. The Georgian Dream party was followed by the major opposition United National Movement party, which got 26.07 percent of counted votes, according to data released by the CEC on Sunday morning. The results were based on 2,668 counted election precincts out of the total 3,847 election precincts.
