Amid rising Covid-19 cases, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on Tuesday decided to impose a weekend curfew in the national capital.
The weekend curfew will be in place from Friday 10 pm to Monday 5 am.
Even though Delhi recorded 5,481 new cases in a day, the city’s health minister Satyendra Jain said that weekend curfew is not a lockdown and should not be treated as one.
In India’s financial capital Mumbai, Mayor Kishori Pednekar on Tuesday said that if the daily Covid-19 cases cross the 20,000 mark, then the lockdown will be imposed in the city.

However, possibility of yet another full lockdown has created fear in the minds of netizens who resorted to posting memes with hashtag #NoMoreLockdowns.
