Amid growing concern over the new coronavirus variant Omicron, Uttar Pradesh government on Friday decided to impose a night curfew across the state from December 25.The restrictions will be in place from 11pm to 5am.

Previously, on Thursday, Madhya Pradesh government imposed a night curfew in the state from 11 pm to 5am as precautionary measure and advised people to strictly follow Covid-19 protocols.
Maharashtra government is also expected to announce fresh curbs for Christmas and New Year.
An official said the Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra is mulling further reducing the number of people allowed in enclosed areas, regulating working hours for establishments and imposing night curfew or Section 144 to control crowds.
