Watch: Why this female Congress nominee refused to contest elections in UP

Days before the upcoming Uttar Pradesh elections, Congress party’s Sheikhupura nominee has refused to contest elections. During a press conference in Badaun, Farha Naeem resigned from Congress and said that she does not feel safe in the party because of district president Omkar Singh. Naeem claims that Singh has made obscene remarks against her on several occasions. She also alleged that the district president referred to her as a ‘Muslim woman’ and employed tactics to push her out of Badaun. However, Omkar Singh has refuted Naeem’s claims and asked for her to provide evidence.
