Polling for Assembly elections in Assam, Kerala and Puducherry, along with by-elections in Karnataka, Nagaland and Tripura, ended largely peacefully with strong voter participation, the Election Commission of India said. Assam and Puducherry recorded their highest-ever turnout at 85.38% and 89.83%, while Kerala registered 78.03%. Over 5.31 crore voters cast their votes across 296 constituencies. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and fellow commissioners oversaw the process through live monitoring. Notably, 100% webcasting was implemented across all polling stations for the first time, marking a major step toward ensuring transparency and strengthening the integrity of the electoral process.
