EAM Jaishankar responds to EU's Concerns on import of Russian crude by India, cites EU council regulations

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has addressed the concerns raised by EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell regarding Indian refined products derived from Russian crude. Jaishankar on Tuesday asked Borrell to refer to EU Council regulations, specifically Regulation 833/2014. This regulation acknowledges that Russian crude undergoes significant transformation in a third country, thereby ceasing to be classified as Russian.
