West Bengal state BJP President Sukanta Majumdar staged a dharna (sit-in protest) outside the counting centre in Dakshin Dinajpur, alleging that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) was manipulating the election results. He warned of taking legal action against the TMC in response to their alleged fabrication of the results. The counting process for the 63,229 Gram Panchayat seats commenced on Tuesday. The elections were marred by widespread violence, including incidents of ballot paper looting and rigging. There were also reports of booth capturing, damaging of ballot boxes, and physical assaults on presiding officers. Consequently, re-polling was conducted in several locations to address these issues.
