Josh Allen instantly names Hailee Steinfeld's biggest pet peeve and his answer is absolutely perfect

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has had quite an offseason -- a new baby, a growing marriage, and now, a very specific admission about what drives his actress wife Hailee Steinfeld absolutely crazy. The two welcomed their first child earlier this year and are approaching their first wedding anniversary. But it turns out even a picture-perfect NFL marriage has its friction points, and Allen is happy to own up to his.

During a recent appearance on the Trainwreck Sports podcast, Josh Allen was asked point-blank what he does that gets under Steinfeld's skin. He didn't need long to think. Every time she reaches toward his beard to clean something off, he snaps.

"Anytime she tries to, like, if I've got something in my beard or in my mustache and she tries to reach for it... I always, like, bark and snap," Allen admitted on the show.

And the reason? It goes back further than his marriage. Allen traced it straight to his father, recalling how as a kid, he and his siblings would touch the whiskers on their dad's face and get the exact same growl in return.

"It's something my dad did, you know, when we'd be little kids touching the whiskers on his face and he'd like, 'Aargh!'" Allen laughed.

What makes it funnier is that Allen is fully aware of the habit and has zero intention of stopping.

"Every time I do that, it gets her every single time. And that's... I can't not do it! It's like, it's there for the taking, and I have to take it," he said.

It's the kind of small, completely harmless domestic quirk that actually says a lot about where this couple is. They are not walking on eggshells around each other. Allen is comfortable enough to tease his wife, laugh about it on a national podcast, and not remotely worry about the fallout. That ease, barely a year into marriage and with a newborn at home, suggests the two have built something more settled than most.

The timing of the interview also adds another layer to the story. The couple recently welcomed their first child and have spent much of the offseason together away from football. Allen has appeared more relaxed publicly in recent months, whether during podcasts or social media clips, and those appearances have shown a side of him Bills fans rarely see during the season.
