We will see you back at 5 am IST tomorrow. Till then, take care and have a good day.
As the playing conditions were revised at the end of rain-hit Saturday, play will continue to begin 30 minutes early on the fourth and fifth day as well to make up for the loss of time and overs.

Stumps on Day 3
With David Warner (20* off 22 balls) back in his customary aggressive mode, Australia scored 21 runs for no loss in the six overs they faced in their second innings, after India made 336 to cut the home team's first-innings lead to 33 runs on Day 3. But the day belonged to Indian youngsters Shardul Thakur (67) and Washington Sundar (62), who joined each other when India were wobbling at 186/6 and stitched a 123-run partnership to bring the visitors back into the series-deciding contest. But Josh Hazlewood's 5/57 ensured that Australia stopped India short of their first-innings total of 369 to take the small lead.

The Aussie openers have begun in contrasting fashion. Harris on 1 off 13 and Warner on 20 off 22, including three fours. AUS 21/0, lead by 54 runs.

Congratulations pour in for the Indian youngsters

Forget survival when it's Warner (13). He has begun like a train even as Indian pacers operate with four slips. The left-handed opener hits Siraj for three consecutive fours: first a pull, then a straight drive and and then behind square on the off-side. Australia 13/0, lead by 46.

Coincidence
12:44 (IST) Jan 17
10 overs were left in the day when Australia began their innings. Survival will be on top of Warner and Harris's mind in this tricky period. Natarajan to share the new ball after Siraj began with a maiden.
12:39 (IST) Jan 17
Australia are about to begin their second innings as we approach the end of play on Day 3. David Warner and Marcus Harris are out in the middle, with Siraj to open bowling for India.

An innings of grit and valour!
The Indian batting show today exemplified grit and valour of the youngsters who are willing to put their bodies on the line for the country. Debutant Washington Sundar (62) and Shardul Thakur (67) exemplified that spirit today as they fought out of their skin to produce maiden fifties while putting up 123 runs together for the seventh wicket. This will go a long way if India win or draw this Test.

India bowled out!
Australia bowl India out for 336 to take a slim 33-run first-innings lead. Hazlewood (5/57) finishes with a five-wicket spell as he cleans up Siraj (13) to signal the end of visitors' innings.
12:28 (IST) Jan 17
That's cheeky from Siraj. Anticipates the short ball, makes room and upper-cuts Hazlewood for a four to move to 13. Precious runs. India 336/9, trail by 33.
12:25 (IST) Jan 17
The Aussie bowlers are not pitching anything in the batsman's half. It's exclusively short-pitch bowling against the tailenders, with a surprise one pitched up. India 332/9, trail by 37 runs.
12:23 (IST) Jan 17
It's the other debutant, T Natarajan, who has joined Siraj in the middle. Can the two rookies score 41 runs more to deny Australia a first-innings lead?

Wicket Alert! Hazlewood takes his fourth scalp to end Saini's brief but gritty stay in the middle. Caught by Smith for 5. India 320/8, trail by 49 runs.
12:04 (IST) Jan 17
Australia have resorted to a bounce-them-out strategy from both ends at the moment. As a result, the rotation of strike has taken a hit and the runs have dried up for India. 320/7, trail by 49; Sundar batting on 60, Saini on 5.

Oops! Take care, coach.

Meanwhile, Saini is wearing his heart on sleeve out there facing a barrage of short balls from the frustrated Aussie pacers. A four to third-man as Saini takes evasive action against a sharp bouncer. The ball hits his glove, flies over slips and into the third-man fence. India 319/7, trail by 50 runs.
