Anand Neelakantan's upcoming book is a tale of Asuras for children
Bestselling Indian mytho-fiction writer Anand Neelakantan is all set to release another book this year. After releasing the much-awaited book 2 in the Bahubali series, 'Çhaturanga', buzz is that Neelakantan's next work is a children's book, also his first in this genre!
The author has been sharing some information about his first children's book on social media these days. "Coming soon with a Children's book. Stay tuned," he had tweeted on September 2, 2020. A few days later, on September 5, he had posted a picture speculated to be from the upcoming book with the caption, "Coming soon, coming soon. Naughty Asuras are coming soon. Stay tuned for funny Asura tales for kids."
In his tweet on September 8, 2020, Neelakantan announced that his new children's book is titled 'The Very Extremely Most Naughty Asura Tales for Kids' which will be published by Penguin India and it will be released this September. Talking about the book, he also shared, "It is a tale of magic, goblins, ghosts, Bhuta, preta etc. Folkish." The author revealed his new book's cover in an online video on September 9. Here's what he posted:
Commenting about writing his first children's book, Neelakantan said, "I have always wanted to write for children. I want to pass on the stories that I had heard from my parents. What I have attempted here is to keep the folkish way of storytelling with song, rhymes and humour."
Neelakantan had recently shared that the lockdown has been quite productive for him as he managed to write three to four manuscripts, including two children's books! In an interview with Sonali Bendre Behl during the launch of 'Çhaturanga' at her book club, he had said, "The lockdown has allowed me to write a lot... I'm currently working on a screenplay of a Hindi film, the details of which will be announced soon. I've also written a talk series for an audiobook; two children's books; and a book on ''Women of Ramayana' which will be published by Westland Publishers... Meanwhile, book three of the Bahubali trilogy is also ready."
