Mayiladuthurai Assembly Results 2026: INC's Jamal Mohamed Younoos. Y.N wins

Jamal Mohamed Younoos. Y.N of Indian National Congress won the Mayiladuthurai constituency with a margin of 10845 votes. He garnered 68011 votes, while Pattali Makkal Katchi candidate Palanisamy. A M.COM. came second with 57166 votes.

The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has fielded C. S. Arun Rasheeth from Mayiladuthurai, setting up a contest against Congress (INC) candidate Jamal Yunus Mohammed, and Pattali Makkal Katchi candidate Palanisamy. A M.COM in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026.

Mayiladuthurai is the headquarters of its eponymous district. The constituency is urban-centric and has seen varied representation across major alliances.

In the 2021 Assembly elections, INC’s S. Rajakumar won the seat with 73,642 votes, defeating PMK’s A. Palanisamy, who secured 70,900 votes. The margin of victory was 2,742 votes.

In the 2016 Assembly elections, AIADMK’s V. Rathakrishnan won the seat with 70,949 votes, defeating DMK’s K. Anbazhagan, who received 66,171 votes. The margin of victory was 4,778 votes.

In the 2011 Assembly elections, DMK’s S. Rajakumar won the seat with 73,642 votes, defeating AIADMK alliance partner N. Kittu, who secured 64,311 votes. The margin of victory was 9,331 votes.
