Actor
Manoj Bajpayee, who was in Bengaluru recently for an event, got into a quick chat with ETimes about his fondness for the city, his favourite food spots, and how Bengaluru has evolved over the years.
While his packed schedule didn't leave much room for sightseeing this time, the actor revealed that Bengaluru has always been a special destination for him and his family.
"I have not gone out much this time because I keep coming to Bengaluru with my family. I have a few friends here. Sandeep Chowta lives here, and whenever possible, I try to catch up with friends," Bajpayee shared.
Reflecting on the city's transformation over the years, the actor acknowledged that Bengaluru has become busier and more crowded but believes it still retains its old-world charm.
"With time, it has only become more crowded and expanded into the suburbs. But nonetheless, it's a great place. Whenever you're sitting in one of the houses or hotels around M.G. Road, it reminds you of the old days when we used to visit," he said.
Bajpayee fondly recalled a time when Bengaluru was known for its cooler weather and leisurely lifestyle. "Those days, Bengaluru used to be much colder. Walking around the parks and strolling through the streets used to be so much fun.
I would visit eateries, spend time with friends and then head back. That's what we usually do."
When asked about his go-to spot in the city, the actor didn't hesitate to name one of Bengaluru's most popular restaurants.
"My go-to places are eateries," he said with a smile. "Nagarjuna food is something that we love. Both my wife and I absolutely love the food there. We always make it a point to go there whenever we're in Bengaluru."
Even amid a whirlwind promotional tour, Bajpayee's affection for Bengaluru remains intact, with its memories, food and familiar faces continuing to draw him back to the city.
